Richard B. Cheney is a distinguished American public servant, businessman and politician. Cheney was a well-known figure in Washington over the years. George W. Bush was the fourth president which he was a part of. Bush selected Cheney as his vice presidential candidate in July 2000 citing Cheney's knowledge and expertise. Dick Cheney is a former chief of the staff of the President. He also served in Congress, and he was also secretary of Defense. Both Republicans and Democrats appreciate his honesty. Cheney has said that he regards the role of an honest but discrete adviser in Bush's administration. Cheney said that after he was accepted as the Republican nomination as vice president Cheney was looking forward to working with a president who will work with all parties in order to accomplish his goals. He will cooperate with opposition members in confidence. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on the 30th of January 1941, at Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old, Richard moved his family across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper in the state of Casper where his father was the director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservancy district.
