It's true that she was born with no left hand, and it is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only unique thing about her. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on her account on Instagram however she doesn't put it at the center of the account. The message? We are all more than just our physical self. Our identities are complicated and we contain many different dimensions. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her handicap. She does not want to become an advocate for disabled people who focuses on that. There is a lot of aspects that make up Lockhart. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do every day as normal and have found the best way for me to adapt things. It's a big component of my daily life, so it is important to discuss the subject. Lockhart's self-acceptance journey is one that can last an entire lifetime. She can be a role model with regard to this. Lockhart has admitted that she's gone through phases where she was unsure about wearing certain clothing styles which revealed her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and posts photos of herself in the outfits she wears on social media. Self-love, according to her, is like a journey. "I believe that you'll be there," she said. It's a journey, I'm not convinced that you will ever arrive. It's important to have people in your life who know and can relate to you. They'll help you remind yourself about the issues you're concerned about.
