Laura Linney is an American actress who is well-known for her performance of strong but vulnerable characters. While spending her summers in the home of her father, she developed an interest in theater. Following her studies in Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. Her career began on Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared on film in just two years, and then on television within a year. Since then, she has appeared in many films, TV productions and stage shows. There have been numerous awards throughout her career. They include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. The actress has received nominations for five Tony Awards as well as three Oscar Award nominations. However, despite her recognitions and awards, stage is where she's at and she will continue to act on both stage and screen.
